Margaret Walker
Margaret Walker, 88, of Selma, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at a local nursing home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, at Beech Island Baptist Church with the Rev. Clinton Peoples officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Pearlie Gardner Turner
Pearlie Gardner Turner, 47, of Selma, died Friday, February 4, 2005, at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February, 9, at Lilly Grove Baptist Church in Burnsville, with the Rev. Michael Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Zion #1 M.P. Church Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley E. Turner; one son, Oscar Gardner of Selma; one daughter, Juliet Williams of Selma; one grandson, Arsenio Gardner of Selma; two special cousins, Nettie Lawrence of Selma and Rose (Alex) Watts; and other relative.
She was preceded in death her daughter, Claudia.
Active pallbearers are friends of the family.
Mrs. Turner was born on Dec. 19, 1957, to the late Oscar and Claudia Gardner. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Temple Gate SDA Church. She was a graduate of Tipton High School.
Gladys Kynard Martin
Gladys Kynard Martin, 84, died Sunday, January 6, 2005 in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Al Finch officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her four children, Judy Martin of Selma, Bob Martin his wife Rita of Ellenwood, GA, Barbara Lowe and her husband Billy of Prattville, and David Martin and his wife Sheila of Selma; two grandchildren, James Lowe and Jason Lowe of Prattville; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Justin; three sisters, Lucy Dunaway, Dorothy Haynes, and Frances Taylor; one brother, Jack Kynard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband Walter H. Martin.
Family visitation will be Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
James “Pete” Franklin Broadhead
James “Pete” Franklin Broadhead, 64, died Sunday, February 6, 2005 at his home.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Johnson officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home Directing. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Broadhead; sons, James Broadhead, and Marc (Nita) Broadhead; five grandchildren, Chrissy Broadhead, Lisa Broadhead, Josh Broadhead, Daniel Sims and Nathan Broadhead; and one great-grandchild, Lindsey Sims; one brother, Charles Broadhead of Selma: sisters, Margaret Ward, Shirley (Pete) Anthony both of Selma. Mr. Broadhead was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Maudie Broadhead and a son, William Melvin Broadhead. Pallbearers will be Larry Blue, Daniel Sims, George Humphries, Ronnie Mull, Terry Hughes, and Mike Morrison.
Family visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
