ORRVILLE – After having Friday nights game forfeited, the Keith Lady Bears could never get their offense going Saturday night and lose their 7th game of the season to the Prattville Lady Lions.

“We lacked effort tonight,” stated Lady Bears coach Raymond Rucker.

Keith seemed out of sync most of the game.

Both teams committed many turnovers in the low scoring 1st quarter which ended 6 – 4, Prattville.

Keith went the last 7:23 of the 2nd quarter without a field goal, but went into the half only down 19 – 10.

Shots were hard to come by for the Lady Bears in the second half. Prattville’s defenses seem to keep the Lady Bears off balance.

“We had been working on a 2-3 defense in practice and wanted to try it tonight,” said Prattville coach David Barnett. Van Lisa Jones was the only offense Keith could find.

Even with poor shooting the Lady Bears largest deficit was just 13 points. But they could only get as close as nine in the 4th, as Keith missed numerous free throw opportunities.

Final score: 47 – 37.

Jones had game high 20 points for Keith.

Lulu Gardner topped the Lady Lions with 14. The 9 – 7 Keith Lady Bears must go to the drawing board to get ready for the 6A 8th ranked Selma Lady Saints, who will be coming to Orrville on Saturday.
