Eaton Moyd, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at her home.

Services are at 11 a.m.

Monday, August 30, in Rochester, N.Y.

Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, Ben Moyd; daughter, Tonya Morgan; son, Ben Moyd and five grandchildren; parents, Lula and Joseph Eaton; six sisters, Ethel and Henry Moyd, Betty and Emmitt Walker, Mattie and Willie Rose, Bobbie and Hymet Jackson, Janie and James Blunt and Nita and Curtis Rattler; six brothers, Jimmy and Debbie Eaton, Melvin Eaton, Charles and Carolyn Eaton, Johnny and Kim Eaton, Calvin and Faye Eaton and Walter and Patricia Eaton; and a

host of nieces and nephews.

Rick 0. Clary

Rick 0. Clary, 81, of Selma, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at a Tuscaloosa hospital.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 28, at the Chapel of Lawrence-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Charlotte Clary, and their three children and a granddaughter. His son Neal Clary is a longtime Selma resident along with wife Sharon and daughter Kristina Adell; daughter, Keven Clary Seal and husband Jim of Nashville, Tenn., and son Ron Clary and wife Maureen of Fairview, Texas.

Active pallbearers are the VFW Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Cook, Paul Hayward, Horace Jones, Tim Lyle, Calvin Ross, Mason Harris, Joe Spivey, Cullan Nichols, Wayne Plummer and Calvin Griffin.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Clary, a native of Tuscaloosa, a business owner in Selma since 1962, was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps during the war years. His service concluded with a tour in the Philippines with the 211 Troop Carrier Squadron after which he returned to Tuscaloosa to attend the University. In 1947, he began a sales career with Tom’s Foods. He worked as a salesman and then assistant sales manager with Tom’s until 1962, when he bought the Selma Tom’s distributorship. Altogether, he was associated with Tom’s for 57 years.

Despite his age, Mr. Clary had remained active at his snack food distribution and vending business, Clary Tom’s Sales, until a recent surgery. He was a charter member of the Dallas County Moose Lodge; an officer of the Fraternal Youth Workers; and a very active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3016 in Selma. He held a number of VFW offices over the years including Post Commander and was member of the Honor Guard.

Vicky Denise Crear

Vicky Denise Crear, 36, of Selma, died Monday, August 23, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, at Zion #2 MP Church with the Rev. J.D. Fails officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include spouse, James Edward Smiley; parents, Patricia and Bobbie Crear and Joe Frison; two daughters, Kayla and Jayla Crear; three brothers, Torrance Crear, Brandon Crear and Joe Frison Jr.; four sisters, Marki Whitfield, Jamie C. Pettway, Markeshia Crear and Regina Jones; two brothers-in-law; four nieces; and uncle, Michael Crear.

She was preceded by her son, James Edward Smiley Jr.

Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. at J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.

Ms. Crear was born on Oct. 11, 1967, in Macon County. She was a member of Zion #1 M.P. Church. She attended Tipton Junior High and Southside High School and graduating from Murphy High in Mobile. She attended Springhill College and received certificates in retail sales and management from Riley College. She was live supervisor for 10 years at Phillies Cigar. She always enjoyed good music and good movies.

Christine Robinson

Christine Robinson, 15, of Hayneville (Mosses), died Saturday, August 21, 2004.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church #1 with the Rev. James Price officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Ella Bell Thicklin

Ella Bell Thicklin 78, of Minter, died Thursday, August 19, 2004.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 28, at First Baptist Church in Farmersville, with the Rev. L.C. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Micheal Brown

Micheal Brown, 29, of Selma, died Friday, August 20, 2004.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, August 28, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Gregory Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Cherise Brown; mother, Dorothy Brown; one son, Micheal Brown Jr.; three brother, Henry Lewis, Dennis (Clarice) Brown, and Jessie (Linda) Safford; half brother, Phillip Brown of Springport, La.; six sisters, Annie Brown, Debra Ann (Issac) Blevin, Maryann (Virgil) Turner, Barbara Sanders, Brenda Dianne Brown and Hendrietta Brown; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; 10 nieces; and 12 nieces.

Quinnie Atkins

Quinnie Atkins, of Seattle, Washington, died Saturday, August 21, 2004.
