A pair of murder trials are set for the Circuit Court docket this week. Rodriques Simpson, who is being held on charges of murder, and John Jones Jr., who has been charged with murder and reckless endangerment, are expected to appear before the jury this week, District Attorney Michael Jackson said.
Jackson said he is not certain which day either would appear, but some were scheduled to come in Monday.
Jones has been held in Dallas County Jail under $2 million bond for his alleged role in the shooting death of Jessica Colon. Colon died when she was struck by a single gunshot would to the upper right chest.
During his testimony during the bond hearing for Jones in Dallas County District Court, Selma Police Detective Tory Neely said the defendant had a criminal history.
