Gerald Cleveland Bamberg

Gerald Cleveland Bamberg, 55, of Brent, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his home.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Shannon Allen officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.

Survivors include his mother, Edith Ruth Pitts Bamberg of Brent; and three brothers, James P. Bamberg of St. Louis, Mo., Cecil C. Bamberg of Bessemer and Robert D. Bamberg of Brent.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel.

Active pallbearers are James Stewart, Randy Lagrone, Kenny Carter, Chris Johnson, Steve Middlebrooks and Keith Holifield.

Ronald Preston Ledbetter

Ronald “Ronnie” Preston Ledbetter, 49, of Fayette, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at his home.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Edward Eaton officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother, Eva Jo Ledbetter of Selma; sisters, Cindy (Bobby) Boothe of Brierfield, Patsy (Donnie) Hall and Becky (Mike) Smith all of Selma; brother, Tim A. Ledbetter of Selma; and an enormous amounts of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by his father, Preston “Pep” Ledbetter.

Active pallbearers are Tom Giddings, Buddy McLendon, David Smedley, Mike Brady, Freddie Brady and Donnie Sheehan.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Lawrence Funeral Home

Regina B. Compton

Regina B. Compton, 93, of Linden, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at a Demopolis hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Chapel of Larkin and Scott Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Demopolis with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Lola G. Davis

Lola G. Davis, 90, of Maplesville, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at her home.

Services are at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at New Life Assembly of God in Maplesville, with the Rev. Morris Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Martin Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include sons, William A. (Annie) Davis, Donald L. (Jean) Davis all of Maplesville; daughters, Mrs. (T.L.) Green (Doris) of Selma, Sylvia (Charles) Lewis of Maplesville; brother, Herman Smith of Duncanville; sister, Ollie V. Giles of Rome, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis, was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Davis, a daughter, Helen Ratcliff; and a great-grandson, Morgan Riggs Ratliff.

Robbie Seekers, of Selma, died Monday, August 2, 2004.

Dr. Marion Lawrence Crawford, 84, of Marion, died Monday, August 2, 2004, at his home.

Gerald Lee Hale

Gerald Lee Hale, 61, of Sprott, died Monday, August 2, 2004, at a Selma hospital.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Marion United Methodist Church with the Rev. James L. Waters Jr. and Dr. Larry Teasley officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Church Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Fretwell Hale of Sprott; one son, Brian (Robin) Hale of Sprott; daughters, Ashley(Barry) Plummer of Sprott and Alicia (Paul) Smitherman of Selma; one brother, Scott (Elizabeth) Hale of Sprott; one sister, Sylvia Brazil of Tuscaloosa; four grandchildren, Haley Smitherman of Selma, Dawson Hale and Dayton Hale of Sprott and Madilynn Plummer of Sprott.

Active pallbearers Charles Hughey, Gary Salter, Danny Hale, Scottie Mayatt, Shayne Mayatt and Greg Majors.

Honorary pallbearers are Chris Hale, Scott Brazil, Chris Fretwell, Keith Johnson, Kevin Fretwell, David Fretwell, Stan Fretwell, Jeremy Renfroe, Josh Renfroe and Billy Plummer.
