Stallworth case to proceed

After hearing preliminary arguments Thursday on Jarron Stallworth’s charges of intimidating a witness, District Judge Bob Armstrong said the case will proceed to the grand jury docket.
Stallworth’s attorney, Brandon Wooten, argued that according to the law, Stallworth’s alleged offenses did not meet the charges.
“The facts do not support the requirements,” he said. “Probable cause has not been presented that this crime was committed.”
In a previous interview, District Attorney Michael Jackson said the case is actually connected to the murder trial of Jarron’s brother, Tyrron.
“What happened is he and his brother beat up one of the witnesses on his brother’s murder case,” he said. “His brother is still on the run, but Jarron got caught and charged.”
Tyrron has since been taken into custody after being captured during Wednesday’s sweeping operation that included officers from several law enforcement agencies.
