Well, here we go again. The Alabama legislature opens up shop this week for another go at the illegal  immigration issue. It seems they can never get anything accomplished that pleases everybody. Do they actually think these changes are going to please everyone? Nay, nay, it isn’t going to happen. It is impossible when you have such a divergence of opinion on subjects such as welfare, immigration and enforcing the law.

There are those who have the misguided notion the United States should be supporting everyone and people should be able to come and go as they please without restrictions. After all, we can always print more money or take it from the productive rich. Here is a news flash, you can only do so much money printing without adversely effecting currency values. This administration has kept the presses humming day and night.

It is a sad state of affairs when Americans are the only subjects required to show their identification in our own country mind you. Although, requiring identification to vote is being challenged by some claiming it is discriminatory. Voting affects elections, and some like the idea of not requiring voters to be identified.

Since when did it become “good Samaritan” to harbor illegals? Seems to me that  would be aiding and abetting law violators and problematic for Christians.

Folks we are fast losing our  way and our common sense. Where is Thomas Paine when you need him?

The whole point being, there are many here illegally. We are a nation of laws and it is very dangerous to start exempting certain groups from having to obey the law.

There is a way to come here legally — just as all of our ancestors were subjected to — and it is unfair to those abiding by our immigration laws waiting for permission to enter. It has to be a controlled orderly process or else our country will not survive the onslaught.

The illegal immigration and illegal drug problems with Mexico could have been lessened by encouraging investment in Mexico and South America by our government.

Instead of sending our resources halfway around the world to the Middle East and China — where we have no friends — we should have paid more attention to the plight of our hemisphere. There are sufficient oil reserves and cheap labor on our side of the world. Problems solved except for the insatiable quest of Americans for illegal drugs and that can only be solved by the gift of Jesus Christ.
