After last week’s drug raids that resulted in the arrest of 22 individuals, some criminals might have thought the Selma Police Department would be ready for a break.
Three Selma men found out the hard way this is not the case Tuesday afternoon.
After receiving a tip from people in the area, Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said the Selma Police Department conducted a search at 1000 Medical Center Parkway in Apartment 33, which resulted in five arrests and the confiscation of a large amount of marijuana.
“At about 10:30 this morning we received information from a concerned citizen of a package being delivered, and they advised the package could possible contain illegal drugs,” he said. “During the initial investigation, we were able to confirm the package did contain marijuana. Members of the drug unit, assisted by the K-9 unit and C.I.D. supervisor went to the address. The investigation resulted in three suspects being arrested for possession of marijuana first degree.”
Those charged include William Earl Wedgeworth III, 21, Sabeian Duplessis and Jerryius Glass, 22.
All have been charged with possession of marijuana first degree.
