Joseph Goodwin

Joseph Goodwin, 64, of Plantersville, AL, died on June 21, 2004 at 2 p.m. at a Birmingham hospital.
Services will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Billy Cabbil officiating and Agee Brothers directing. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents the late Mr. Harry and Mrs. Clara Goodwin.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Agee Brothers Funeral Chapel from 6-7 p.m.
Survivors include spouse, Annie J. Goodwin; sons, Charles (Shirley) Goodwin, Allen (Pamela) Goodwin and Darrell Goodwin; daughter, Erika (Bertram) Crum; sisters, Helen Alexander, Jean (Lorenzo) Love and Louise Ferrell; seven grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be his brother-in-laws.
Joseph was known to family and friends as “Scoun” or “Sonny Boy”. He was always giving, charitable and a loving person. He used the talent the Lord gave him working with his hands and he had a great love for story telling.
Sabrina H. Lolley
Sabrina H. Lolley, 49, of Selma, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at her home.
Services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 2 p.m. in Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Stover officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2004.
Survivors include husband, Tim Lolley; mother, Betty M. Harris; sons, James Michael Curtis, Patrick Lolley, Casey Lolley all of Selma; daughters, Janet-Curtis Smith of Verbena, AL and Cindi Kay Lolley of Selma; brothers, James Scott Harris of Selma; grandchildren, Jonathan David Smith, James Landon Curtis, Janna Brooke Smith; daughter-in-law, Laura Curtis; son-in-law, Johnny Smith.
Mr. Lolley was preceded in death by her father James F. Harris and her late husband David H. Curtis.
Grady Smitherman
Grady Smitherman, 58, of Valley Grande, died on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at a local hospital.
Services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 11 a.m. in Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Finch and Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Mr. Smitherman was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Ola Smitherman; sister, Betty Jo Chandler. He was employed at Globe Metallurgical Inc. for 38 years.
Survivors include wife, Sandra Chandler Smitherman; son, Randall Grady (Paige) Smitherman; daughter, Kellie Smitherman (Justin) Fox; brothers, Roy C. (Judy) Smitherman, James M. (Susan) Smitherman, Purvis E. (Reta) Smitherman; sister, Nettie Green of Birmingham; grandson, Randall Layne Smitherman.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Smitherman, Donnie Chandler, Aubrey Smitherman, Thomas Smitherman, Robert Smitherman, Scott Chandler, Bill Green and Ron Hyde.
Honorary pallbearers will be Metallurgical Inc. employees and Dr. Julian Howel.
Donations may be made to Elkdale Baptist Church.
Troy E. Childers
Troy E. Childers, 32, of Selma, died on Monday, June 21, 2004 at a Montgomery hospital.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 11 a.m. at New Shiloh Baptist Church in Potters Station with Rev. R. L. Tolbert officiating and Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at New Shiloh Baptist Church in Potters Station from 10-11 a.m.
Survivors include wife, Vernessa Y. Childers; parents, Robert and Elizabeth Childers; two brothers, Dannie (Leona) Childers of Marion Jct., AL, Robert (Jerry) Childers, Jr. of Prattville, AL; four sisters, Lelia Allen of Bessemer, AL, Maggie Childers of Selma, Sharon Childers of Stone Mountain, GA and Sabrina (Jermaine) Anderson of Atlanta, GA; five brothers-in-law; seven sister-in-laws.
Active pallbearers will be cousins and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Meadowcraft (mechanics).
Wilburn Woodrow Hicks
Wilburn Woodrow Hicks, 85, of Selma, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at a local nursing home.
Services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 4 p.m. in Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Fancher officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2004.
Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by Wilburn W. Hicks.
Survivors include wife, Annie M. Hicks; sons, Charles C. Hicks, Leonard W. (Peggy) Hicks and Rev. James A. (Ann) Hicks; daughter, Mary (John) Hicks Nalley; brother, Cecil Clyde Hicks; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Hicks, Michael Hicks, Derrick Hicks, John Nalley, Rodney Nalley and Edward Nalley.
