The city of Selma is ready to do a little spring-cleaning.

Selma Mayor George Evans announced this week a citywide cleanup day would take place Saturday, Feb. 25.

The cleanup, Evans said, is especially important because thousands of visitors will soon arrive in Selma.

“We have company coming for the Bridge Crossing Jubilee and the Selma Historic Pilgrimage, two of the largest tourist events,” Evans said. “We have to be ready to put our best foot forward.”
