Morgan golf wins tournament

Alden Marrow fired a 77, and Dylan Jones a 79 to lead Morgan Academy to the team championship of the annual Morgan Invitational Golf Tournament Thursday at the Selma Country Club.
Bain Hanning and Miller Majors shot 80 and 81 respectively, and Thomas Glover added an 82 as Morgan outdistanced Lee-Scott, 317-323.
Marrow made the All-Tournament team for the Senators.
Matt Tatam of Lee-Scott had the best round of the tournament, shooting a one-over-par 72, to edge Cole Willis of Macon-East, who had a 73. Tatum, Willis, Clay Gruein of Lee-Scott (75), and Jordy Hayden of Sumter Academy (76) also made the all-tournament squad.
Among the individual players, Rett Rivers won the Low Individual honors with an 89. Second place among the individuals was Cleve Kirk with a 90.
Following Morgan and Lee-Scott in the team scoring were Sumter (335), Macon-East (339), Ft. Dale (343), Springwood (360), Wilcox (372), Kingwood (399), Bessemer (409), and Tuscaloosa (418).
Morgan will be back in action on Tuesday, traveling to Phenix City for the Glenwood Academy Invitational.
