With a youngster on the hill Monday afternoon at Thorsby, the Dallas County Hornets produced plenty of run support as they scored nine.

It proved to be enough for freshman Matthew Ross as the Hornets took the 9-5 win.

Ross pitched 4 and a third innings and Justin Irwin came in and finished things off on the hill for the Hornets.

Chase Knight tripled and scored on an Anthony sac fly.
