As the family of Bridget Woods prepares for her funeral, investigators with the Selma Police Department continue to piece together what led to her killing.

Woods, who was asleep in her Marie Foster Street home early Friday morning, was killed when multiple shooters opened fire outside the home, sending rounds into the house.

Last week, Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said Woods was not believed to be the target of the shooters, but someone who had lived at the home or lived at the home might have been.

Tuesday, Riley said the ongoing investigation has continued to strengthen the connection between the shooting and a fight earlier in the morning at Club Entourage, located on Alabama Avenue.

“We are continuing to look into what was the cause of the fight at the club and what led to the shooting,” Riley said. “We have gathered a lot of information already, but have some work to do.”
