Richard W. Stephens

Richard W. Stephens went home on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was born in Montgomery on April 27, 1935 to Buford and Sam W. Stephens. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary M. Davis and a brother, Sam W. Stephens, Jr.

Mr. Stephens is survived by the love of his life, Stephanie and his children, Elizabeth Cooper, Richard W. Stephens, Jr. (Christie), Yvonne Harlan and Markus Garvey; his grandchildren, Sarah Cooper, Richard W. Stephens III, Amanda Stephens and William Stephens. He is also, survived by his loving older sister, Mrs. Helen Trawick, several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stephens retired, as the director of marketing, from the U.S Postal Service in San Antonio, TX. He dedicated over 30 years.

Visitation will be at Lawrence Funeral Home in Selma, AL on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 5pm to 7pm, graveside burial will be in Montgomery, AL at Memorial Gardens on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 am

Pallbearers will be Gary Pierson, Ben Orr, Butch Cousins, Robby Wysmulek, Darrin Payton and Steve Brown

Memorials may be made to the Selma Gideon Camp.
