Nearly a week after he was implicated in the shooting of K’chebe Boyd, 22-year-old Jeremy Akeem Gordon turned himself into police Monday morning.

According to Lt. Johnny King with the Selma Police Department, Jeremy Gordon came into police headquarters with his attorney.

“This was in reference to a first-degree assault felony warrant we had out for his arrest,” King said. “He was then booked, processed and then transported to the Dallas County Jail.”

The department placed a $60,000 bond on Gordon, who made bond and was released.

Law enforcement officials are continuing to search for Gordon’s brother, Myron Gordon, 28, who is also wanted in connection with the April 3 shooting near the intersection of Union Street and Philpot Avenue.

Myron too is wanted for first-degree assault.

According to earlier reports, the brothers approached Boyd near the intersection, produced a handgun and demanded money.

“The victim struggled with the suspects and then was shot in the back by one of them” Selma Chief of Police William Riley said in an earlier interview with the Times-Journal. “After the shooting, both suspects ran from the scene.”

Police responded to the call around 8:30 p.m. on April 3, where they found Boyd lying on the ground. He was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
