A day after picking up a pair of Dallas County Hornets, Wallace-Selma coach Barry Dean stayed close to home again Thursday, May 15. He signed Morgan Academy catcher Josh Gardner to a baseball scholarship.
Though he’s only been playing the position for two years, Morgan coach Terry Atkins said Gardner has a knack for the position.
Gardner got a chance to watch Wallace play this season and knows he’ll have to step up his game.
The former Senator catcher was selected to the Alabama Independent School Association’s all-star team that will be played this Saturday.
Gardner excels not only behind the plate, but at it.
He hit .392 to lead the Senators this season.
