Chris Stewart has seen just about everything when it comes to University of Alabama athletics. The play-by-play announcer for many of Tide sports and the sideline reporter for the Crimson Tide football broadcasts will be a guest in Selma May 7 to likely share some of the stories many Tide fans just don’t know.
Stewart will be the guest speaker during the Dallas Wilcox Bama Club’s annual scholarship program, scheduled for Monday, May 7 at the Carl Morgan Convention Center in Selma.
During the event, in addition to Stewart, the club will present a total of $28,000 in scholarship money to a group of high school seniors that includes students from Morgan Academy, Selma High School, Keith High School, Wilcox-Central High School and Wilcox Academy who plan to attend the University of Alabama in the fall. The club will also recognize area seniors who have been offered Presidential Scholarships from the university.
A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The cost of the event is $20 per person for Bama Club members and $35 for non-Bama Club members. For reservations or more information, contact Ronnie Leet at 875-2672 or email him at ronniel@mindspring.com.
