On December 2, Central Christian Academy officially dedicated their gym in the memory of Lewie Ham.
Dr. John Niblett the headmaster at Central Christian, presented the plaque in Lewie’s memory to his parents, Lewis and Jeanette Ham.
Lewie was a member of the graduating class of 1999 and died of muscular dystrophy on October 4, 2001.
Lewie was a loyal supporter of the sports programs at Central Christian Academy, and he had the deepest respect for Christian value that inspired him and other students.
Mrs. Ham had this to say about Central Christian, and the faculty.
The Central Christian gym was formally known as the Victor Gymnasium. Jerry and Cynthia Victor requested to honor Lewies memory by renaming the Gymnasium. By a unanimous vote the, the board granted their request. The name of the gymnasium is now the Lewie Ham Memorial Gymnasium.
