The 2002 AISA All Star game will be held this Friday night at Memorial Stadium. The game will feature players from all over the state of Alabama, and several from right here in Selma.
Wilcox Academy head coach, and all star coach Chris Burford will make his second appearance as an All star coach on Tuesday night.
With players coming from all over the state, it gives them a chance to act on more of a personal level than they get to do any other time.
With the coaches being excited to take place in the event, you can imagine how the players feel about being selected to play in the all star game.
Most of the other players feel much the same way. &uot;It feels good, and we are very honored to be a part of the all star team,&uot; said Jamie Parker and C.A. Poe. &uot;It is an honor to be able to represent the town, and the school in the game.&uot;
Both the East and the west squad will get two days of practice, and they will be honored at the AISA All Star banquet on Thursday night before they suit up for the game on Friday night to decide who is the best in the state.
