Charles Haynes
Charles &uot;Charlie Jr.&uot; Haynes, 55, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 in Atmore.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Providence M.B. Church, Selma, with Pastor Bert Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Dunklon Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Homes directing.
Survivors include one son, Darrell Preston Haynes of Bedford, Va.; three daughters, Shawndrell Felecia Haynes and Dawndrell Alecia Haynes both of Bedford, Va., and Easter Sullivan of Fairfax, Va.; five grandchildren:,Kamera, Cory, Darius, SharDaja and Javier; seven sisters, Jessie Peake, Malinda Smiley, Christine Fails, Barbara (Willie) Jones, Debra (Paul) Williams, Carolyn Sullivan all of Selma, Suprener Haynes of Montgomery; five brothers Ervin (Jacqueline) Haynes of Atlanta, Ga., Robert Lewis (Wanda) Haynes, Stacey Haynes, Antonio Perkins, all of Selma and Burnett Maull of Lowndes Co., a near and dear friend Donna Preston Goode; four uncles; ten aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mamie Lee Gordon Haynes and a brother Mack Arthur Haynes.
Mr. Haynes was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haynes, Jr., born on Nov. 8, 1947 in Collerine.
He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Selma. He remained a member until death.
Active pallbearers are nephews and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Cephus Wade, Eddie Savage, Lawrence Steen and Lewis Wade.
Flowerbearers are friends and ushers of Providence Church.
Dinner will be served in the church fellowship hall.
Barbara Juanita Sheperd
Barbara Juanita Sheperd, 76, of Selma, died Wednesday, Nov. 20. 2002 at a local hospital.
Graveside services are at2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Pastor Clay Grice officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas R. Sheperd and Ralph H. Sheperd both of Jones; one brother, Thomas Brown of Jones; two sisters, Sandra Lee of Jones and Carolyn Green of Clanton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family visitation will be from 1 – 1:40 p.m. on Friday, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Pauline Hohenberg Siegel
Pauline Hohenberg Siegel, 106, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 at her home in Houston Park.
Funeral arrangements and survivors will be announced later by Lawrence Funeral Home.
Mrs. Siegel was born in Wetumpka on Mar. 25, 1896. She was the daughter of Adolphe and Helen Elkan Hohenberg.

Ruby Lee Clinton Sherbett
Ruby Lee Clinton Sherbett, 88, if Brent, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 at a Brent assisted living facility.
Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Bethlehem Methodist Church with the Rev. Travis Barnes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion directing.
Survivors include a son-in-law, William Finn of Fultondale; one daughter, Annie Jo Smith (Robert) of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Essie Tubbs of McCalla and Frances Tucker of Greensboro; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earlie Sherbett and a daughter, Nina Finn.
Active pallbearers are Mike King, Ken Smith, Ronnie Finn, Ronald Watkins, Tommy King and Nathan Smith.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Calvary M. B. Church, 5204 Citizens Pkwy., with the Pastor Charles A. Lett
and Pastor Johnny Hollis officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the J. H. Williams Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two daughters, Twanya Dixon and Helene Dixon and one granddaughter, Kourtney Chanelle Dixon all of Selma; five sisters and three brothers, Naomi Smiley (Howard), Mary Ann Dixon (James), Johnny Hollis (Gloria), James Hollis, Jackie Croker (Ray) Ralph Hollis (Talenthia), Marilyn Maddox (Barlon) and Charlene Houston (Alvin); grandmother, Willie Hollis; three aunts; one uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ms. Dixon was the daughter of the late Johnny Hollis Sr. and Mattie Lee Hollis of Selma.
