Meadowview drops victory in 26-0 landslide against Faith Academy

Meadowview Christian dropped their third game of the year Friday night at home against Faith Academy 26-0.

Faith Academy scored all of their 26 points in the first half, and they held the Trojans to just one first down in the first half of play.

Faith took advantage of a short field on their second possession, and marched it 30 yards down to the three yard line to set up first and goal on the three. On first down the Trojans held, but on second down Phillip Quinley took ran it in from the three for the touchdown. The issuing extra point was good to make the score Faith 7-0.

On Faith’s third possession of the game they took advantage of a short field again. On first and ten from the Trojans 37 yard line Joseph Anderson hooked up with Jason Slade on a 37 yard touchdown pass to make the score 13-0.

Roger Goodman recovered a fumble for the Trojans on the Faith 37 yard line, but the Trojans were unable to advance the ball successfully, and had to punt.

Early in the second quarter faith marched the ball 80 yards down the field to pick up their third score of the night to make the score 20-0.

With 56 seconds left in the first half Faith picked up their last score to go ahead 26-0.

In the second half Meadowview’s defense came into the ball game with a renewed strength.

Meadowview managed to move the ball effectively in the second half, but fumbles and penalties kept them from scoring. The Trojans defense in the second half was stifling holding Faith to just the 26 points they managed to put up in the first half.

Meadowview takes on Ft. Dale in Greenville Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
