Hayward Bell

Hayward Bell, 83, of Demopolis, died Friday, August 22, 2003, at a Demopolis hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, at Cassimore ME Zion Church in greensboro, with the Rev. Curtis Hood and the Rev. Mitchell Congress officiating. Burial will follow in the Cannon Cemetery in Greensboro, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 12 noon.

Gloria Jean Moore

Gloria Jean Moore, 49, of Livingston, died Monday, August 25, 2003, at her home.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at New Prospect Baptist Church, Livingston, with the Rev. Lorenzo James officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Oscar W. Alexander

Oscar W. Alexander, 65, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Dallas County, died Saturday, August 23, 2003 at a Tuscaloosa hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, at Wayman Chapel Church with the Rev. Andrew Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Tracey Lanett Alexander of Memphis, Tenn.; one son, Derrick Anderson of Greensboro; one brother, Marion (Callie) Minniefield Jr. of Selma; six sisters, Sadie Mae Cummings of Kentucky, Earnestine Thomas of Birmingham, Josephine (James) Hawkins and Roberta Johnson all of Birmingham, Jerrylene (James) Moore of Selma and Mattie R. Parker of Anchorage, Alas.; one grandchild, LaDerrick Anderson of Greensboro; two great aunts, Sadie Dozier and Mattie L. Manuel of Lynch Ky.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Extended family and long time companion Ms. Willie Anderson and family of Tuscaloosa.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Harris and Percy L. Davis.

Mr. Alexander was born on August 29, 1937, one of 10 children born to the late Addie Mae Callens Alexander and Sheddrick Alexander. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Wayman Chapel Church.

Benjamin Davis

Benjamin Davis, 24, of Selma, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003, in Selma.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Walker Mortuary.

James Henry Stanley

James Henry Stanley, 79, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 30, at the Chapel of Leak Memory Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Leak Memory Chapel directing.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Hazel Stanley; children, G.G. Chapman, James Charles Stanley, Pattie Woodall, Michael Stanley, John Stanley and Lynn Wilson; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Scottie Owens.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Stanley and uncles and aunts Ray and Erma Thompson and Ed and Claudia Gullett.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Crowne Health Care and Warren Manor in Selma for the care given by the nurses and staff.

Henry Hill

Henry &uot;Jack&uot; Hill, 87, of Beechwood, died Sunday, August 24, 2003.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. James L. Price officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Pamela Denise Martin

Pamela Denise Martin, 39, of Selma, died Thursday, August 21, 2003, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, at Elbethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe J. Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Martin; parents, Oben, Alice Pritchett; two sons, Stoney Pritchett and Rodney Martin; one daughter, Danielle Martin; two brothers, Calvin Pritchett and Michael Pritchett; three sisters, Mary Davis, Evelyn Lakes and Lula Waters; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; eight nephews; three nieces.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Kappa Alpha Psi Inc.

Mrs. Martin was a teacher’s aide at Day Care Kids for Kids.
