Two of Moores greatest achievements since being named Athletic Director are, the initiative of starting the Crimson Tradition Fund, and the upgrading of the Tides athletic facilities with particular emphasis on creating a state of the art academic center.

Moore coached football for 31 years 22 of them at the university of Alabama, and this allowed him to work with a great number of people, from coaches to the business community.

In 1994 Alabama capitalized on this by naming him Associate Director for External Affairs.

The position required constant travel to different speaking engagements across the Southeast.

As a player and a coach Moore was involved in seven National Championships, 14 SEC Championships, and 27 bowl trips.

Moore was a member of the 1961 National Championship as a player, and then was involved in six more from 1964 to 1992 as a coach.

Moore coordinated the offensive plays for the last four national championships that Alabama won.

In addition to coaching at Alabama Moore also made stops at, Montana State, Notre Dame, and the NFL’S Phoenix Cardinals.
