Roger Dale Moore
Roger Dale Moore, 51, of Selma, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include father Frank Macon Moore; mother Alma Ann Stephens and step-father Don Stephens; brothers Robert Earl Moore, John Edgar Moore and Howard Anthony Moore; children Michelle Moore, Roger Dale Moore, Jr. and Jessica Lynn Moore; grandchildren T.J. Herrod, Jamie Herrod, Robin Smiley, Jacob Cope, Roger Dale Moore III, Brittany Brown and Alexandria.
Active pallbearers will include Tommy Herrod, Jeremy Trotter, Sam Williams, David Headley, Bruce Owens and Tony Sanchez.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
Viola Stone Hopkins
Viola Stone Hopkins, 85, of Perryville, Ala., died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at a local nursing home.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband, Audie Lee Hopkins, and parents Riley and Ellen Stone. She was a member of the W.M.U. association at Pisgah Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons Arthur Lee Hopkins, Phillip (Sharon) Hopkins, Levert (Linda) Hopkins and James (Connie) Hopkins; daughters Clara (Alex) Madyda, Bobbie (Henry) Ivey, Ellen (Gene) Nichols and Brenda Norman; sister Mary Lois Wallace; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund or one’s favorite charity.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
