Robert W. Kirk, Jr.

Robert (Bob, Bobby, Boppy) W. Kirk, Jr. was born July 5, 1944, in Orrville, AL to Robert and Irene Kirk.

Growing up in Orrville he graduated from Orrville High School in 1962, attended college at Troy University and University of Montevallo and then joined the U.S. Army, serving his Country honorably. He moved to Indiana, Nebraska and back to Alabama living in Montgomery for 29 years. After retiring from the cattle mineral business, he moved to Colorado to be with his daughter and grandchildren. Bob never met a stranger and was known for his sense of humor.

He will always be in our thoughts and greatly missed.

Bob passed away unexpectedly June 8, 2012, at his home in Littleton, CO.

Mr. Kirk is predeceased by his mother, Irene Kirk.

He is survived by his father, Robert W. Kirk, Sr. of Orrville, AL, his only daughter Joi Clayton and her husband Todd of Pine, CO, three grandchildren, R.J. and Benjamin Clayton and Michael Clayton, U.S. Air Force, of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. Brother, Ray Kirk of Albany, GA and his wife, Pat, two sisters, Betty Fenner of Kissimmee, FL, and Judy Twilley and her husband Buck of Selma, AL, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are Todd and Michael Clayton, Ray Kirk, Jimmy Kirk, Buster Baggett, Phil Panhorst and Mark and Tim Frazier. Honorary pallbearers, R.J. and Benjamin Clayton.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from one o’clock in the afternoon until two o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 17th of June, at Orrville Baptist Church, 14450 Main Street in Orrville.

A service in memory of Bob and in celebration of his life is to be conducted at two o’clock by cousin and Rev. Walter Hare.

Following the service, interment will take place at Orrville Cemetery.
