Mrs. Jewel Deason

Mrs. Jewel Marie Hilyer Deason, age 93, a resident of Montgomery, AL died on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at an assisted living in Montgomery. She was born on January 9, 1916 in Coosa County, AL, daughter of the late John H. Hilyer and Minnie Lee Williams Hilyer. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her son, James Carl (Marjorie) Deason of Pike Road, AL; daughter, Norma Deason (James) Willis of Billingsley, AL; Granddaughters, Darla (Bobby) Howorth of Montgomery, AL, Andrea (Keith) Tyus of Peachtree City, GA, Leighia Willis of New York, NY, and April (Walter) McKay of Montgomery, AL; grandson, Todd Willis of Ft. Pierce, FL; great-granddaughters, Taylor Tyus, Morgan, Tyus, Rachel Howorth, and Julie Howorth. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Estes Edward Deason. The family would like to thank Paula Bischoff and the staff of Arrowhead Manor including Amber &Mary, and Vista Care Hospice, for the care they gave Mrs. Deason. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Billingsley Baptist Church with Rev. Robert McMicken officiating. Interment will follow in Big Springs Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Martin Funeral Home of Clanton directing.
