CONNOLLY, Theodore L. Jr. of Miami, FL 86, died Nov 4 2008. Devoted husband of Joanne Dobbs Connolly for 31 years. Born Staten Island NY April 30, 1922 to Theodore L. Connolly, Sr. and Dorothy Montgomery Connolly. WWII vet CBI 2nd Troup Carrier Sq. at Yankai, spring of 1943. Airlifted Burka troops into Burma and sup-plied Merrill’s Marauders. Was in airborne assault on Myitkyina, flew supply missions to British army in Imphal area. Greatest thrill was flying Paulette Goddard in theatre. Upon return flew for the White House, then joined Eastern Air Lines, becoming captain at age 27. Retired age 60 to become citrus farmer. Activities and associations:
President of Morristown NJ Rotary, coached little league baseball. In Miami was member of UM Hurricane Club, QBs, OX5, and supported the opera, President of 14th Air Force Flying Tigers Assoc. and trustee of their memorial at Museum of Aviation Warner Robbins GA. Proudest accomplishment was being an excellent Dad to his 7 children, 15 grandchildren, and 3 greats. Children are Theodore Connolly III (Mary Lou), Laureen Smith (Jim), Karen McElfresh (Keith), Alexa Singer (Paul), Andrea Douglas (Ronald), Christopher Connolly (Cathy), and Dr.Ingeborg Collins (John), also survived by be-loved brother Robert Connolly (Doris). A memorial service will be held at the Prosperity Associate Re-formed Presbyterian Church in Marion Junction, Alabama on December 6th, 2008, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial of his ashes in the Marion Junction Cemetery.
