Irene Johnson

Funeral service for Irene Bryant Johnson, 63, a resident of Selma, AL and formally of Auburn, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church in Selma. Interment will follow at Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery in Auburn.
Irene was the daughter of the late James Reuben Bryant and Addie Pearl Moore Bryant. She was a member of Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church. Irene was a graduate of J.F. Drake High School and Alabama State University. After thirty years as a media specialist, she retired from the Dallas County School System.
Friday, September 5, 2008 while she was resting, the Lord requested her presence.
Survivors: a daughter Kimberly (Darrell) Bossie of Selma, AL; a grandson, Ashton Bossie; three sisters, Mattie P. Mills of Columbus, OH, Rosia Mae Cobb of Auburn and Minnie Lou Woods of Cleveland, OH; two brothers: James R. Bryant, Jr. of Columbus, OH, and Johnnie (Sarah) Bryant of Orlando, FL; a special friend, O.B. Thomas; a devoted niece, Ethel Cobb, aunts, Fannie Patrick and Mattie Bell Woodson both of Chicago, IL, Minnie Swanson and Lula Dowdell both of Opelika; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
