ORRVILLE — The search for an elderly woman, who went missing more than a week ago in the Beloit community, is still ongoing.
It has been more than ten days since family members last saw 89-year-old Adline George in her home off of Dallas County Road 865. Posters and flyers of George’s face and description have been placed throughout the area. Even though she remains missing, her family, authorities and volunteers, search with the hope they may still find her safe.
“Yes, we have been getting very frustrated,” George’s daughter Loretta Thomas said about the search. “So now we are just hoping and praying that someone has seen her.”
The family is continuing to search by foot along roadsides and through woods for any sign of George, but no traces of her, not even bits of clothing have been found.
“We don’t have any leads at this point,” Sgt. Mike Granthum of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said. “We had another set of dogs come here Monday without finding anything.”
George is listed as 5-feet, 2-inches, 120 pounds and was last seen wearing green sweatpants, house slippers and a light green shirt. Her husband, Alex George, last saw her on the night of Tuesday, July 31 when he left the house to feed the dogs in the backyard. He saw George on the couch asleep and when he came in 30 minutes later, she had vanished.
George is known to walk several miles daily in her community and she suffers from diabetes and the early stages of Alzheimer’s.
