CENTRAL ALABAMA.

AT THIS TIME…THERE ARE NO TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCHES OR WARNINGS

IN EFFECT FOR OUR AREA. UNLESS THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO

FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PART OF CENTRAL ALABAMA.

AT 10 PM CDT…THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM CLAUDETTE WAS LOCATED

NEAR LATITUDE 30.2 NORTH…LONGITUDE 86.1 WEST…OR ABOUT

25 MILES WEST OF PANAMA CITY FLORIDA. THIS IS ABOUT 230 MILES

SOUTH OF BIRMINGHAM AL…OR ABOUT 150 MILES SOUTH OF MONTGOMERY

AL. STORM MOTION WAS NORTHWEST OR 315 DEGREES AT 10 MPH. STORM

INTENSITY WAS 50 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW…

CLAUDETTE HAS TAKEN A WESTWARD JOG AND WILL KEEP THE MAIN WIND

IMPACTS SOUTH OF THE FORECAST AREA. HOWEVER…GUSTY WINDS MAY

CAUSE SOME WEAK TREES TO FALL AND POWER LINES MAY BE AFFECTED.

HEAVY RAIN BANDS WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES ACROSS THE

AREA. ISOLATED LOCALIZED FLOODING IS POSSIBLE. ISOLATED WEAK

TORNADOES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE IN THE NORTH AND EAST OUTER BANDS WELL

AHEAD OF THE STORM.

TROPICAL STORM CLAUDETTE CONTINUES TO SUSTAIN WINDS AROUND 50 MPH

AS IT MOVES NORTHWEST. LANDFALL IS EXPECTED ALONG THE WESTERN

PORTION OF THE PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA WITHIN A FEW HOURS AND THEN

MOVE INTO SOUTHEASTERN ALABAMA. WEAKENING IS EXPECTED ONCE THE

CENTER MOVES INLAND.
