Meadowview hosting Pickens
The Meadowview Christian School Trojans (2-5, 1-3 AISA Class 1A-Region 2) have a tough challenge as they return home to face the undefeated Pickens Academy Pirates (7-0, 5-0 AISA Class 1A-Region 2) on Friday at 7 p.m. in region play.
The Trojans are coming off a 63-22 loss at Cornerstone Christian, their third straight loss of the season, while Pickens is coming off a 28-16 win over Marengo Academy.
Morgan travelling to Monroe
Following a 27-14 home loss to Hooper that effectively ended their playoff hopes, the Morgan Academy Senators (3-4, 1-3 AISA Class 3A-Region 2) will host the undefeated Monroe Academy Volunteers (7-0, 3-0 AISA Class 3A-Region 2) Friday at 7 p.m. in a region game.
The Senators’ loss on Friday was their fourth straight of the year, while the Volunteers will enter Friday’s game coming off a 47-14 win over Clarke Prep School.
Dallas County heading to Holtville
The Dallas County High School Hornets (2-4, 0-4 Class 4A-Region 3) will hit the road on Friday to face the Holtville Bulldogs (0-6, 0-4 Class 4A-Region 3) in a region contest.
The Hornets are looking to bounce back from a 46-8 road loss to the No. 2 Dadeville Tigers, while Holtville is still searching for its first win of the season after a 26-24 loss at Beulah.
Keith going to Akron
The No. 8 Keith Bears (6-0, 4-0 Class 1A-Region 3) will look to continue their winning streak when they travel to the Akron Rams (4-2, 2-2 Class 1A-Region 3) Friday at 7 p.m. in a region matchup.
Keith is coming off a 33-6 home win over Billingsley, while Akron will enter Friday’s game coming off a 29-27 home loss to Sunshine.
Selma to host Greenville
The Selma Saints (1-5, 0-4 Class 5A-Region 3) will host the Greenville Tigers (2-4, 2-2 Class 5A-Region 3) Friday at 7 p.m. in a region game.
The Saints are still looking for their first region win of the season following last Friday’s heartbreaking 24-21 loss at home to Saraland that saw Selma get down to the opponent’s 1-yard line with 11 seconds left, only to just fall short on fourth down.
Greenville is coming off its second straight loss of the season following a 21-3 region loss to Demopolis at home.
Southside welcomes T.R. Miller
The Southside Panthers (1-5, 1-3 Class 3A-Region 1) will look to break a four-game losing streak when they host the No. 2 T.R. Miller Tigers (6-0, 4-0 Class 3A-Region 1) Friday at 7 p.m.
The Panthers will take the field Friday after a 39-6 road loss to Opp, while T.R. Miller is coming off a 55-3 win over Cottage Hill Christian.
The Tigers have outscored opponents 235-72 so far this season.
