Hazel Stripling

Hazel R. Dean Stripling, 76, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Parkway Medical Center. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Oscar Stripling, Jr. She is survived by
her six children; three sons, Oscar Dean Stripling, David Stripling (Judy), and Johnny Stripling (Deborah) all of Decatur and
three daughters, Alicia Roberts (Ross) of Jesup, Georgia, Karen Campbell (Gary) and Nawana Finley (Gary) both of Huntsville. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Edward Dean and George Albea Dean of Selma and her sisters Marjorie Lloyd of Montgomery and Dorothy Smith of Selma. Hazel is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Heather Barnett, David Stripling, Jr., Keith Stripling, Nicholas Stripling (Jaimie), Sarah and Elizabeth Roberts, Shea Stripling, Garrett, Heath and Michael Finley and 4 great grandchildren.
Hazel was a very faithful member of Central Baptist Church for the last 47 years where she sang in the choir as well as participated in Sing-n-Strings senior ukulele group
and enjoyed teaching preschool. In her retirement, she enjoyed her friends and neighbors in the Wesley Glen Community where she lived.
Visitation will be at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur on Monday, August 23 from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services at 2:00 on Tuesday, August 24 at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Rob Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
