Griffith 29th wealthiest in nation; Davis filing included

TheHill.com reports Rep. Parker Griffith of Alabama is one of the 50 wealthiest members of Congress, according to filings by representatives and senators. He ranks at 29th.
TheHill.com says the Republican’s portfolio rose about $2.7 million in 2009 with some gains coming from the stock market.
Griffith owns several Legg Mason investment funds, which rose from $250,000 in 2008 to $500,000 last year. The Income Fund of America account hit $1 million, up from $500,000 in 2008.
TheHIll.com says most of Griffith’s wealth is farmland and real estate. The farmland is worth $1.5 million. He also has $250,000 invested in a funeral home in Boaz.
Griffith’s liabilities total about $1.3 million, mostly property mortgages.
