MOBILE — Selma jurors could decide the fate of former Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine after his trial on federal gun charges.

The web blog Lagniappe, written by Kevin Lee out of Mobile, quotes Nodine’s attorney Gordon Armstrong III as saying he filed legal documents to have the jury pool drawn from Selma because he does not want to move the trial from Mobile.

The move on Armstrong’s part also is confirmed by television news reports out of Mobile.

The case is set for jury selection Oct. 4 at the federal courthouse in Mobile.

Lee reports Armstrong said he filed court documents Monday.

A pre-trial conference was held Wednesday morning in the case.
