To whisper a prayer

In the business of our days, in the rush of our own routines, it is easy to find ourselves caught up in the overwhelming troubles of the world and its answers we long for.
If it is not a bailout, a government official lying. Then, it is foreclosures on homes and jobs getting harder to find all the time. Even the media concerns itself with the president of the United States swatting a fly during a speech.
Let’s face it, the world was never perfect, but we do keep striving do our best. In our home and household, we can only do what we are able to do. We cannot conquer the mystics of how to make the world a better place; we just have to concentrate on our families, their lives, friends and communities.
We have to do what will make our family and community the very best in living. Unfortunately, the answers do lie in Washington. We have to trust them, we have no choice.
“Our best” may be not getting the answers to all of life’s problems, not even 99 percent of them. But for those we cannot handle, the next time we are in the crowded restaurant, walking the streets for a job, dealing with the bills due and those past due, driving in traffic and getting cut off: it does not hurt if we find the time to whisper a simple prayer.
Someone is listening.
