VALLEY GRANDE —Valley Grande will soon be able to offer Mexican cuisine as Valle Grande Mexican Grill prepares to open their doors.
The official opening of the restaurant, which will be located at 5518 Alabama Highway 22, is set for Wednesday, Feb 27.
“It’ll be right beside Dave’s Market in that shopping center on Highway 22,” said Donna Downs, Valley Grande city council member.
Downs said the menu will offer an array of options — not just Mexican dishes.
“I have seen the menu and they will of course have all your classic Mexican dishes but they will also serve steak, chicken, hamburgers and fries,” Down said. “They will have a lot of variety on the menu.”
During their regular city council meeting, council members voted a unanimous yes on a resolution authorizing the Mexican restaurant to pursue an on-premise liquor license.
“Basically what that does is allows them to have a restaurant liquor license,” Valley Grande Mayor Wayne Labbe said. “They are well within the city ordinances.”
Both Labbe and Downs encouraged all Dallas County residents to try the new restaurant, saying it will add a lot to the city of Valley Grande.
“As a Valley Grande resident, I’m very excited that this restaurant is coming,” Downs said. “I think it will be very good food and offer a fun, family atmosphere.”
