Jaime Dellyn Kight and Jason Matthew Welch were united in marriage at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, February 23, 2013, at Alexander Homestead in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rev. Gordon Franklin Welch, father of the groom, performed the ceremony. The ceremony took place in the Dairy Barn behind the restored 1903 Queen Anne Victorian estate house.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Florence Dellyn Kight of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Mr. David Ray Kight of Denver, North Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Emerson Kight of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. William Dell Basom of Lawrenceville, Georgia.

The groom is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Franklin Welch of Selma, Alabama. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Finley Carter of Montgomery, Alabama and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Albert Welch of Florala, Alabama.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a classic vintage white lace silhouette gown. A detachable grosgrain belt with Swarovski crystal embellishment added a radiant richness to the natural waist. The gown had a scalloped neckline finished with corset closure. A lace on Point d’Esprit, vintage-inspired capelet was worn over the gown for the ceremony. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Molly Ann Kight, of Boone, North Carolina and the groom’s sister, Mrs. Allen Matthew McHugh of Selma, Alabama. The bridal attendants wore black dresses and carried bouquets of white Gerber Daisies.

Serving as flower girl was Miss Lillian Grace McHugh, niece of the groom of Selma, Alabama. She wore an heirloom French hand-sewn dress of Pima white batiste adorned with ecru French laces and floral embroidery made by her grandmother. She carried a satin basket filled with white rose petals.

The groom’s attendants were Mr. Eric Alan Iacovazzi of Concord, North Carolina, Mr. Matthew David Kight, brother of the bride of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mr. Garrett Todd Kight, cousin of the bride of Raleigh, North Carolina. Serving as Junior Groomsmen were Master Thomas Edwina McHugh, III, nephew of the groom of Selma, Alabama and Master Grant Davis Kight, cousin of the bride of Mooresville, North Carolina.

Mr. Ray Emerson Kight, grandfather of the bride and Mr. George Michael Welch, uncle and Godfather of the groom read selected scripture passages from Colossians and 1 Corinthians.

Following Hors d’ oeuvres, a formal reception was held in the Dairy Barn adjacent to the ceremony venue.

The white covered tables were decorated with mason jars of various heights filled with white and green hydrangeas.

After a honeymoon trip to Litchfield Beach, South Carolina, the bride and groom reside in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
