Lawson Levert Miller, Jr.

Lawson Levert Miller, Jr. (Noonie), age 81, of Selma went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2013 after a battle with cancer and diabetes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson Levert Miller Sr., and Margaret Evelyn Walker Miller, both of Selma.

Lawson is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Camelia Cochrane Miller (Mimi), his son, Lawson Edward (Ed) Miller (Joanna), his daughter, Margie Johnson (Steve), all of Selma. He leaves five grandchildren, John Miller (Elizabeth), Mallory Miller, Candace Johnson, Courtney Johnson and Kyle Johnson, an Aunt, Erssie (Pete) Grindle and two great grandchildren Stephen Kenneth Johnson and Adaline Louise Miller and a host of good friends.

Lawson was a graduate of Albert G. Parrish High School, class of 1949. He served in the National Guard, 31st Dixie Division Tank Company, 200th infantry. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. Lawson was a passionate lover of all animals and enjoyed fishing at the beach.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 1, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Crosspoint Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the animal rescue group, wannabe Rescued- P.O box 725, Selma, Al. 36702-0725 or through PayPal to Wannaberescued@aol.com
