While serving an arrest warrant to a woman for one offense, officials with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and the 4th Judicial Drug Task Force found a whole lot more Wednesday.

Vickie Underwood, 57, was served an arrest warrant at her home on Dallas County Road 63 for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; in this case, that controlled substance was methamphetamines.

“When officers entered the home they smelled a strong chemical smell in the home and then discovered there was a meth lab in the home as well,” Dallas County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Roy Freine said.

In addition to the lab, they discovered chemical precursors, finished meth and marijuana in the home.

Underwood was taken into custody and placed in the Dallas County Jail under bonds totaling in $651,000.

She was charged with three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana second, trafficking meth, unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of precursor chemicals and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Due to the danger of the chemicals used in the meth lab, officials called a special meth lab cleanup team attached to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department.
