The Selma Police Department is continuing its search for two suspects tied to an incident Thursday morning where shots were fired at an occupied home on L.L. Anderson Avenue.

At around 11:30 a.m., two suspects, after exiting their car, walked up to the home on the 1300 block of L.L. Anderson Avenue and fired an estimated four shots in the direction — and possibly striking — the home. According to Sgt. Curtis Muhannad, an elderly woman and a young black male were in the home at the time. No one was injured.

“The suspects fled the scene in a beige or tan colored vehicle believed to be a Chevrolet Cavalier,” Muhannad said. “They went east on L.L. Anderson Avenue and it is believed they traveled north on Marie Foster.”

Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said Thursday evening, officials have identified two suspects they believed may be connected, but still have not found the car.

Riley said the tan or beige Cavalier carries the Alabama license plate 27B7652.

“We are continuing to collect evidence at the scene and have conducted a number of interviews with witnesses and those in the home at the time of the shooting,” Riley said late Thursday. “At this time, we are not releasing the names of the suspects.”

Camelle Posey, who lives near where the incident occurred, said she heard the shots.

“It was about four shots,” Posey said. “The whole street heard it and everyone came out.”
