Selma All-Stars win, lose in tourneys

The Selma 14-year-old All-Stars defeated Holtville 12-2 in five innings Friday in the first game of the District 4 tournament at the Selma Softball Complex.

The 13-year-old All-Stars, however, fell to Prattville 6-5.

Crawford Traylor got the pitching victory for Selma 14-year-olds with six strikeouts, one walk and two hits.

Leading the hitting for Selma were Dylan Lawrence with a double and a triple, Wes Tipton with two doubles and a single, and Joey Raybon and Eddie Thigpen with two singles apiece.

Devonta Cleveland had a single and scored two runs, and Austin Anderson scored two runs.

The Selma 13-year-olds had only three hits — Latarious Wright with a triple, and Shammarkus Jones and Mark Black with a single apiece.

The Selma 14s play Millbrook at 6 p.m.today, and the Selma 13s take on Millbrook at 4 p.m Sunday.
