Selma police have arrested two suspects on charges of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are produced or distributed.
Sgt. Doug Stewart said Jeremy Brouillard, 28, of Selma and Andrae Ellis, 27, of Selma are in the Dallas County Jail. Brouillard’s bond is $15,000. Ellis’ bond is $100,000.
“Police received a complaint from a mother of a 6-year-old child that two male subjects had coerced the child into smoking marijuana,” Stewart said.
The mother took her child to a local medical facility for a nosebleed after the incident. While she was there, medical professionals performed a drug test, which came back positive for marijuana, the police sergeant said.
Selma officers followed a tip of drug activity being conducted out of an abandoned vehicle in the 1300 block of Tremont Street, possibly by the same suspects, Stewart said.
“Officers located drug paraphernalia and a small amount of suspected marijuana in the vehicle,” he said.
