Martha Sue (Suzy) Overstreet

Martha Sue (Suzy) Overstreet born on November 27, 1932 in Tallahassee, AL died July 15, 2013. Suzy was born to the late Jamie Sue Harper and Clyde Franklin Harper. She is survived by her husband Donald Clyde Overstreet and children, Melissa Overstreet Blohm (John), Lydia Overstreet Jackson (Hunter), Jennifer Overstreet Styslinger (Mark) and six grandchildren, Mac J. Styslinger, Claudia O. Styslinger, Stella S. Styslinger, Lydia C. Styslinger, Courtney C. DeWeese, Hunt C. Jackson. Suzy attended Tallahassee High School and received her nursing degree from The Ida Moffett School of Nursing, Samford University. She worked at Robert B. Green Memorial Hospital in San Antonio, TX until moving back to Alabama and starting a family. She was instrumental in helping establish her husband, Don Overstreet’s, first medical practice. She was a long-standing member of The First Baptist Church of Selma, AL choir. Suzy was a past president of the Women’s Auxiliary League as well as a faithful, committed member of the Selma Garden Club. Suzy was an integral part of her children and grandchildren’s lives and will be missed dearly.
