As she raises her family in the place she calls home, Mandy Henry said she’s truly blessed in her profession of being able to provide homes for other families.
Co-owner of The Real Estate Gallery with business partner A.C. Reeves, Henry graduated from Morgan Academy before receiving her degree from the University of Alabama in advertising and minoring in business. She also trained and received her real estate license in the process.
Henry returned to Selma and worked at The Selma Times-Journal in advertising and at Town and Country Real Estate, before she and Reeves opened The Real Estate Gallery in March of 2007.
“I do residential sales and commercial sales. We handle rentals. I do personal renovation investments, where I renovate homes and resell them,” Henry said. “A.C. and I have recently renovated two buildings downtown and put loft apartments upstairs and retail spaces underneath.”
Henry said it’s been a true blessing to be in a role where she can work with people in the community and provide homes to those who need them.
“I’m very blessed to be able to help people find homes and work with the public,” Henry said. “And I’ve been real blessed to have the opportunity to invest in the community and give back by rehabbing buildings and houses. I just like being able to work with the public.”
Henry said she’s looking forward to continuing her work in Selma where she’s truly blessed in many areas of her life, and thinks the city provides many opportunities for those who would call it home.
“I married someone who’s from Selma and who’s a farmer, so this is where we’re going to be. At first I didn’t see the opportunity, but now I do,” Henry said. “I’m very blessed to be here. I have a great business and a great business partner. I think it’s a great community and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. The people here are great, and there are so many opportunities in Selma. We have so much to offer, especially when you’re younger.”
