Marina should be part of ongoing conversation, not forgotten

How disappointed were we to learn the Selma City Council — according to Ward 3 city councilman Greg Bjelke — has not talked about the continued development of the Selma Marina for more than a year. Why?
Regardless of any action taken or not taken, it is a shame the marina has all but been forgotten now that the restaurant has opened and the summer boating season is nearing an end.
In a previous editorial we challenged the council to allocate some of their discretionary or oil lease funds to upgrade the bathrooms, but nothing has been said or done.
It is time to begin work on installing a fuel point at the marina for it to finally reach its full potential and begin paying dividends to the city of Selma.
