ORRVILLE — Keith High School was on lockdown Thursday after a dispute Wednesday night in Orrville, spilled over on to the campus Thursday morning.

The domestic dispute occurred on Dallas County Road 343 at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Keith High School principal Lou Ella Guthridge.

Dallas County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Randy Pugh said shots were fired during the Wednesday evening dispute.

At approximately 10 a.m. Thursday, a male and female student began arguing about the same domestic dispute while changing classes.

Guthridge said the students were brought to the office and disciplined, but continued arguing in class and were brought back to the main office.

Once the female student’s mother arrived at school, the mother began arguing with the male student and Guthridge called for a lockdown.

“I called for a lockdown as a precautionary measure so things wouldn’t get complicated further,” Guthridge said.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 11:15 a.m.

Pugh said one person was injured in the on-campus arguments Thursday, but declined to comment further until a full report is complete. Pugh also said that no weapons were found on campus.
