Rubbie Brooks Lanier, 63, a resident of Montgomery, formerly of Selma, passed September 14, 2013 at a Birmingham hospital. Services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013, 12:00 noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Walter E. Ellis, pastor of Pilgrimage Rest, Montgomery, AL. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery directed by J.H. Williams Funeral Home. Viewing of the body will be held September 21, 2013, 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the church.

She was preceded in death by mother, Catherine Brooks Whitt.

Survivors include spouse Harry Lanier; daughter, Donna (Herman) Smith; grandchildren, Dominique, and Alexis; sister, Helen Brooks.Pallbearers are family and friends.
