Meadowview Christian will host an alumni event Friday, Nov. 1 at the school to try to fire up current and past students while building up school spirit that may have waned a little in recent years.
“We are doing it to raise money for the school and to try to bring some spirit to the school,” event co-organizer Kasey Burton said.
The event will include girls and boys basketball games between the school’s current teams and past alumni.
Burton said a lot of alumni have already signed up to participate in the two basketball games.
“We’ve got a lot more than what we expected,” Burton said. “We’ve got 20 alumni guys committed to playing and 12 alumni girls committed to play and 13 alumni cheerleaders coming back to cheer.”
The alumni cheerleaders will participate by cheering on the alumni teams while the current cheerleaders cheer for the school’s boys and girls teams. Following the game, the cheerleaders will also hold a blackout pep rally and there be a bonfire.
The girls basketball game starts at 6 p.m. and the boys game will be at 7 p.m. There will be a hospitality room set up for all past alumni, including those that are not participating in the game.
