Three days after one suspect and a victim were killed in a botched robbery in the Highland View condominium development, authorities believe they are closing in on one or two other suspects.

Lt. Curtis Muhannad with the Selma Police Department said the public has provided a wealth of information regarding suspects who may have been at the scene when 77-year-old Willie “Dusty” Brown was shot dead before pulling his own gun and killing one of his two attackers, 31-year-old Lester Jones Jr. of Orrville.

“We have had a lot of response from the public in reference to names and two of those names of come to our attention and now we are trying to put evidence and probable cause together to make a good arrest on these suspects,” Muhannad said. “We have to put them at the scene of this crime.”

Muhannad urges anyone with information about the crime or the suspects to call the police department.

Muhannad said he hopes that additional information would help shorten the length of the search for the suspects.

“We are putting together information on that second suspect, and right now we are tracking down more evidence and making sure we have probable cause before making an arrest.”
