Kevin Oxford McLaughlin, 37, of Orrville, Alabama passed away on January 16, 2014. He was born in Selma, Alabama on April 5, 1976.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Randolph Oxford and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lee McLaughlin.
Oxford is survived by his daughter Margaret Elizabeth McLaughlin and his son Caine Oxford McLaughlin of Selma, his parents, Donald and Leah (Buddy) McLaughlin of Orrville, his sister Susan McLaughlin Hughes and her husband Trent of Monroeville, his brother, Randolph Bain McLaughlin and his wife Kelly of Orrville, and three nephews.
Oxford graduated from Morgan Academy and went on to graduate from Troy University. He will be remembered for being a devoted son, brother and father. He enjoyed spending time on the family farm with his family and friends. He taught his children how to enjoy his love of God, family, friends and his hobby of hunting.
Funeral services will be at Orrville Baptist Church on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Lawrence-Brown Service Funeral Home. Pastor Stephen Rutherford will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at Orrville Baptist Church an hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Pearson Rogers, Ken Carmichael, Hugh Hobbs, Ford Hoke, Terry Gibson, Tripp Bowie, Michael Moseley, and Jamie Bender. Honorary pallbearers will be David Pearce, Jr., Steve Todd, David Summerlin, Richard Ware, Brad Utsey and Rick Schober.
